The Building Safety Department is charged with enforcing the various codes as adopted by the Town Council.

Currently the codes in effect are:

• 2003 International Residential Code
• 2003 International Mechanical Code
• 2003 International Energy Conservation Code
• 2002 National Electric Code
• 2003 International Fire Code
• 1994 Uniform Plumbing Code
• 1997 Uniform Code for Building Conservation
• 1997 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings
  

Cave Creek has amended some of these codes with an amendment package that has been recommended by AZBO (Arizona Building Officials), MAG (Maricopa Association of Governments Building Codes Committee) and RPR (Regional Plan Review) group.
